Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi-n-Tichka Pass – Ouarzazate – Zagora
Start your day with an early departure from Marrakech, driving through the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy panoramic views and pass through traditional Berber villages en route. Stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to explore its ancient kasbah, famous for its appearance in many films. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah and possibly the film studios. Proceed to Zagora, where you’ll meet your camel caravan for a trek into the desert. As the sun sets, arrive at your desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music, and storytelling around the campfire before spending the night in a tent under the starry sky.
Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Sahara, then take a short camel ride back to Zagora. After freshening up at a small hotel, begin the return journey to Marrakech. You’ll revisit Ait Ben Haddou, giving you a second chance to explore this historic site and capture more photos. Continue driving through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, with stops along the way to admire the breathtaking scenery. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, concluding your desert adventure.
