Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Our journey begins with a drive through the picturesque Rif Mountains, passing the city of Tetouan. We will pause to take in the stunning landscape before arriving in Chefchaouen. Known for its blue-hued medina influenced by Spanish architecture, Chefchaouen boasts vibrant artisanal shops and charming rooftop restaurants and cafes. Enjoy your evening soaking in the beautiful views from your Riad.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After a delicious breakfast, we continue to Volubilis, passing through Ouazzane and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, explore the Roman ruins and delve into Moroccan history. Next, we proceed to Meknes for lunch and a tour of the medina’s historical walls, Bab el Mansour, and the Moulay Ismail shrine. We arrive in Fes in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Exploring Fes
Discover Morocco’s oldest city, Fes, by navigating through its narrow streets and alleys. We start with the Royal Palace gate, followed by the historic Jewish quarter, home to the first Mellah in Morocco. Visit cultural and historical sites such as Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, explore various cooperatives and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
We depart for the Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane to explore the famous cedar forest, home to Berber apes. Continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge, pausing for pictures and mint tea in Midelt. Arrive in Merzouga, where we’ll spend the night at our desert campsite.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
Start the day with breakfast at a local hotel before heading to Ouarzazate. On the way, visit Berber villages and the Todra and Dades Gorges. Spend the night at a local hotel in the Dades Gorge.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
After breakfast, we travel through the path of a thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, known for its annual Rose Festival. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and then on to Marrakesh.
Day 7: Marrakesh Sightseeing
Enjoy a guided tour of Marrakesh, exploring its main attractions and monuments including Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. Visit other parts of the city such as Gueliz, the Menara Gardens, and Majorelle.
Day 8: Transfer to the Airport
On the final day, we ensure a punctual transfer to the airport.
