10-Day Desert Tour to Imperial Cities & Coast from Casablanca

Day 1: Airport – Casablanca

Your private 10-day desert tour begins with a transfer from the airport to your hotel in Casablanca. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore some of Casablanca’s key attractions, such as the Hassan II Mosque, the Moroccan Mall, and the nearby beach area.

Day 2: Casablanca – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, we will complete any remaining sightseeing in Casablanca. Following lunch, we will drive to Meknes, a former imperial city known for its wine regions. After a brief stop in Meknes, we will continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will have time to explore the ruins before we head to Fes for the night.

Day 3: Exploring Fes

Today, you will explore Fes, Morocco’s spiritual capital. Highlights include the Medieval Medina, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque (external visits only). Enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant in the heart of the Medina. The day concludes with visits to the souks and Fes Jdid (New Fes), before returning to your hotel.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert

We will drive towards Ifrane, known as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco.’ Continuing through the Ziz Valley, we reach Erfoud, famous for its fossils. After exploring the region, we proceed to Rissani to visit its souk. The day ends in Merzouga, where we stay at a hotel on the edge of the desert dunes.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert and Camel Trek to Desert Camp

After breakfast, we head to a checkpoint in Merzouga. From there, we switch to camels (optional) and embark on a 90-minute journey led by an experienced guide to the Erg Chebbi region. Upon reaching the campsite, enjoy a stunning sunset over the dunes. Spend the night in traditional Berber tents under the desert sky.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then freshen up and have breakfast at a local hotel. We continue through Rissani and Tinghir to Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. After lunch, we drive through the Dades Valley and stop to admire the “Monkey Toes” rock formations. Overnight stay in Dades Valley.

Day 7: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

The tour continues with a drive towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate, known as “the African Hollywood.” We visit a local film studio and the Kasbah. Next, we head to Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We then cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech, where we spend the night.

Day 8: Marrakech Guided Tour

A full day dedicated to exploring Marrakech. Visit major attractions like Jamma el Fna Square, Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. Explore areas such as Gueliz, The Menara Gardens, and the Majorelle Museum. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and have free time to explore the city. Consider visiting a hammam or dining at one of the food stalls in Jamma el Fna Square. Return to your hotel/riad for the night.

Day 9: Marrakech – Essaouira (1-Day Excursion)

Enjoy a guided tour of Essaouira, a historic city on the Atlantic coast with 18th-century ramparts known as Skala de la Kasbah and a relaxed Medina. Return to your Marrakech hotel/riad for the final night.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca Med V Airport

Today, we will drive you to Casablanca for your departure, concluding your 10-day desert tour from Casablanca.
